God's Gift

Everything good is a gift from God. This includes the talents we possess, the food we eat, and the life we are blessed with, even on a dark day.

Our role is to give thanks to God for the blessings He gives to us, and to spread these blessing to others. In giving to others, we give back to God.

Jesus was a totally new kind of gift. He called himself the Bread of Life, and offered everything in a sacrifice that was once and for all - the perfect ‘giving back’. Jesus leads all of creation as he sacrifices Himself for the love of humanity.

‘I tell you most solemnly, it was not Moses who gave you bread from heaven, it is my Father who gives you the bread from heaven, the true bread; for the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’ John 6:32

Part of prayer is giving thanks. Today, let us give thanks for the love shown to us by God through His sacrifice and in all the blessings we enjoy this day, and every day. Amen.
